ScanMovers offers the possibility to book a moving company online via our website. In the future, these services could also be offered via other online platforms, such as partner websites and social media. The information presented below applies to all platforms. Privacy
When you start with a request for a moving quote, you will be asked to enter your name, start- and end address, move date and items to be moved. This information is needed so based on the information, movers can send you a quote. Your phone number, name and email address are also requested for this process, these are only shared with moving companies that have issued a quote, so that they can go through the quote with you. This is necessary because of the complex nature of a move. The details of the move, such as the final date or additional items that you still have to communicate, can also be discussed.
When you visit our website we may collect certain information, such as your IP address, which browser you use, your language settings and the pages (on our website) that have been shown to you. In addition, we may receive information when you use certain social media. We also use Hotjar to observe customer behavior and analyze opportunities for improvements on our website.
Why does ScanMovers collect, use and share your personal information?
Reservations: First of all, we use your personal information to complete your online reservation for a moving company and forward this information to the mover you have chosen.
Reviews: We invite you to leave a review about the moving company that executed your move. This way, you help other people who are moving to determine which moving company is best fitting for them. We also ask you to review our platform and service in a separate review, so we can make improvements and resolve any complaints immediately.
Marketing activities: We also use your information for marketing activities, insofar as permitted by law.

When you fill in an application, we can use your contact information to make you offers, for additional services such as taking out a new energy or cable contract during the process.
Depending on the information you share with us, we may show you personalized offers on the ScanMovers website, in mobile apps or on third party websites, including social media websites. These can be offers that you can book directly on the ScanMovers website.

Algorithm: ScanMovers uses data about the moving of its customers to improve and optimize the pricing algorithm. How long does ScanMovers store your data?
ScanMovers only stores the application data (such as: zip code, city, province, country, furniture, number of rooms, number of residents) for an indefinite time, because of the price algorithm on our website and to improve our customer experience. Customer data is stored for a certain period of time for satisfaction surveys, learning and training purposes and in a single case because the transfer takes place within the next 2 years. This data including your name and contact details which are pseudonymised after 2 years and anonymized after 5 years. ScanMovers has a processing agreement with every moving company that includes this process too.
How does ScanMovers use social media?
We use social media to promote, improve and facilitate our service and our partners. ScanMovers also uses social media, by maintaining accounts on multiple social media sites. These social media services enable you to share information with ScanMovers. When you register with a social media app, you will be told what information will be shared with ScanMovers. The information you indicate you want to share with us, can be basic information available on your social media profile, e-mail address, status updates and your friends list. This information is necessary to provide a unique user experience in the app and on our websites. This allows them our platforms to be personalized to meet your needs and our services to be improved.
How does ScanMovers share your information with third parties?
In certain circumstances we may share your personal information with third parties.
The mover you booked: In order to complete your booking, we must send relevant information to the movers that you have in mind. This may include your name, your contact information, all information about the relocation and the preferences that you have indicated during your booking, such as the moving date and time. Due to the often complex nature of a relocation, it may be necessary to first discuss details of the offer, but also other details such as a parking permit or the final date of the move. This can strongly influence the final choice of the customer.
This information can also be used by ScanMovers or the landlord to offer you personalized offers that are related to the move.
External service providers: We can use external service providers to process your personal information for the purposes described above. We also work with external advertising networks to promote our moving companies and service on other platforms. Finally, we can engage external parties for analytical purposes. These external parties are bound by confidentiality statements and will not use your information for matters that are different from those described above.
Authorities: We may share your personal information with the government or authorities conducting an investigation if required by law. This can be a court order, a summons, and demands from legal processes and investigations. We can also release your personal information if it is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal cases.
Our business partners: In the future, we will work with partner websites all over Europe, to promote our service and offers on our website. ScanMovers offers a specially adapted mobile version of our regular website. This mobile version collects and processes your personal information in the same way as our website - and they allow you to use location services to find movers in the area.
How does ScanMovers use reviews and other information related to destinations that we share with you?
After you have moved with a moving company via our platform, you will receive an invitation to write a review. This may ask for information about the customer-friendliness of the mover, the punctuality, whether there is damage, and the final price in case of a move based on an hourly rate. If you do not want your name to be displayed, you can indicate that, so your review will be posted anonymously. By completing a review you agree with the fact that it can be shown on, among other things, the relevant movers' information page and on our websites, our social media accounts, or on the website of the mover. As a result, other people and companies that are planning on moving, have access to information about the quality and services of the mover through whom you have moved.
If you indicate that a review was useful - or not useful - then this can be merged with feedback provided by other customers, and used to sort the reviews in order of relevance. We may use the information in your lists, or other information about destinations that you have shared with us, to present them anonymously, and help other people who are moving to choose a suitable destination.

How can you manage the personal information you have given to ScanMovers?
You always have the right to view, edit and delete the personal information we have about you. You can request an overview of your personal data by sending an e-mail to info@scanmovers.com. Put "Edit or delete personal information" in the subject field and send a copy of your identity card so that we can prevent individuals from using your personal information without authorization.
If the personal information is incorrect, we will update it after you have indicated it to us. Connected moving companies
Moving companies receive personal data from potential customers after the application has been activated. ScanMovers has an agreement with all affiliated moving companies which states that they take care of data protection and anonymisation. Naturally, the right of inspection, editing and removal, also applies here as soon as the customer indicates that he/she wishes to exercise this right. ScanMovers can not be held responsible for negligence or any leaks among its partners. However, ScanMovers performs periodic inspections by means of a reminder to check whether the parties comply with the concluded agreement.
H1 - One Stop Webshop
This information is stored on the server of H1-Group B.V,, a private company that falls under Dutch law and has its head office at Marconistraat 16, 3029 AK Rotterdam.
Other business partners
Only with the consent of the customer, we pass on information to our partners for additional services such as comparing energy, buying moving boxes and other services in the vocal shop. They will make their privacy statement known by permission. Again, you must expressly agree to this.
