I had a very good experience with Navtrans based out of Munich. Nancy Wigglesworth will handle your front end engagement. She is very patient, explains things in details, provides pricing structure etc. She will then arrange a viewing of the items to be shipped. We did not want to take a full container, so we would have preferred an on-site visit to evaluate the amount of cubic meters needed. Ultimately, we had a viewing over video call, which to be honest did not turn out to be very accurate. Nancy also provided the documents for handling customs. Fast forward to the day of transport. I had taken the package that included packing. However, if you book using cubic meters (and not a half/full container) I will always recommend to pack yourself and optimize every inch of space in the boxes. Unfortunately, the pricing includes both packing and carrying to the truck, so unless you plan to carry yourself you will need to pay for packing even if you do pack the boxes yourself. Also, packing carpets and fragile items needs expert help. At the end of the packing, the boxes are taken to the warehouse for measuring the volume. The destination services are not in the hands of Navtrans, but answers are handled by their CEO Savo promptly. Navtrans provides destination services through a local company and they were good too (in Vancouver). Unfortunately some items (about 3 or 4 only) were damaged, but we had insurance. The insurance claim involved some hassle; my advice will be to not back down and be clear with your demands. All in all, I would rate Navtrans as excellent for a person who needs international relocation and needs to pay for it him/herself (not corporate).
