We recently moved from Hong Kong to Singapore with Relosmart. We were very unhappy with the service and would not recommend this moving company to anyone. While the sales and packing process was fine, the communication after we left Hong Kong was terrible. We didn’t receive any status updates, the shipment took more than double the estimated time which resulted in many additional weeks in a hotel; and at the Singapore side we were faced with unexpected additional costs by the local handler because otherwise the shipment would not be delivered. The local representative was not reachable by phone and hardly replied to email. Altogether a very unpleasant experience with this company – which is also not the cheapest in the market.

From start to finish we were very impressed with this company. There was the odd occasion when emails were not replied to as fast as we would like, but apart from that (and this was not a big issue) we found them to be competitive, organised, friendly and professional. How they managed our experience during the packing stages was hugely impressive (Ron in particular) and it made a difficult and emotional experience for us a lot better than it may have been. I write this review while the shipment is on the water, but the Hong Kong aspects of this move were managed as well as we could have expected. I would strongly recommend this company - based on our experience.

review ONLY the Packing part on 14 Feb, 2021: The packing team came an hr late, only 2 staff but every efficient. They finished everything in an hour. One of the more experienced guy is very organized, he took measurement for all the packed items to determine the net cu ft which less than quotation. He showed the other packer how to pack efficiently. As of today (23 March) I have yet received any follow up email from the customer service rep assisted to oversee my shipment. No update on when they will ship out. Looking at others' reviews about their experience...I am getting worried whether I will ever see my stuff =(. I will update my experience once they are delivered in, hopefully, foreseeable future.

I've done many international moves during the years and Relosmart was the single-worst-experience ever. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone.

My worst experience with a removal company in the past 15 years. They still have not delivered my things and it has been 20 weeks so far since they have collected my belongings. The agreed time frame was 7-10 weeks, it has now doubled and still no sign of my things. They took my money and never delivered my personal effects, I am suffering a financial loss and I need some aperwork that is in my boxes. They simply do not care.

container shipment from Hong Kong to Hungary We moved full container from Hong Kong to Hungary with ReloSmart. Relo Smart were not the cheapest but we chose them as they committed that there would be no unplanned, surprise costs. Most of the experience was positive but once the container arrived to Budapest we were asked to pay additional cost for local shipping. To our complaint, we were explained that the final address was not known originally and that is why we need to pay more. After providing a proof of early communication with the exact destination address, Relo Smart just avoided any response and ignored us. This left us with quite a bad taste.

Communication issues, but all others ok Inital communications went well, but no follow up after a date and time were set. On the day and at the time to ship stuff, no one arrived, and no one was reachable on phone as well. This was on for more than 1 hr! A follow up confirmation would have been good and someone that called you before the agreed time to confirm late arrival would have been appreciated. Packing went smooth and well.

Horrendous experience with long delays and missing items I hired Relosmart for my relocation from Hong Kong to Beijing because the company promised me a door-to-door delivery time of 3-7 weeks. My items were packed Aug. 1, which meant items should have arrived by Sep 19 at the latest. However, my shipment was held at port (in a non-climate controlled facility) and delayed as the company waited to collect enough volume from other customers for a bulk shipment, in essense prioritizing their own economic interests ahead of deadlines promised to customers. I finally received my shipment on November 8, a delay of 50 -78 days based on the company's original delivery estimate. But what shocked me even more was that the shipment I received was NOT MINE! There had been a mixup at the port, and it wasn't until a week later that they found my packages and delivered them to me. The goods delivered were not damaged, but there were items of clothing missing. The company refused to provided any reparations for the delay and mixup. Customer service had been unhelpful through the entire process. I find it hard to belive that this company is allowed to operate its business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The relocation was ok but terrible customer service I moved from Hong Kong to Germany. The packing, the move itself, all this went well and as long as your move goes with as little communication as possible then ReloSmart is okay. BUT their way of communication is extremely terrible. I spoke via phone and via email with the German managing director and with one of their staffers. The MD communicated arrogant and despite admitting in writing they/he made a mistake in the calculation of the price he never apologized (I pointed that out directly) and instead was too fine to say the word sorry but threatened to hold my moving boxes in the port. He only somewhat explained i need to pay more (after I already had paid the full price (I got a quote, I accepted, I got an invoice for the deposit and paid it, I got an invoice for the balance and paid all the rest of it abd then suddenly I got another invoice WITHOUT an explanation or apology to pay more!) The extra costs were to my surprise because he completely failed to mention about it (not in the quotation, nor is this listed in their price list as a number so I wondered how they come up with the number they suddenly asked me to pay extra. I’m very ok to share the conversation if anyone is interested. In a nutshell: in terms of the relocation itself it was good, communication was the worst. I would not use them again.

Trouble-free move, at affordable price It was my first international move, from Asia to Europe, so i was a bit stressed about it, especially as i shipped several artworks. But the whole process with ReloSMART went smooth from beginning to end. The admin staff has always been very serious, available and smart, the moving-out team was very efficient and professional, and the communication until the arrival as well as the moving-in staff were as well. On top of it they were much more accessible on price than competitors. The only issue was it took longer than expected to have the boat leave the port. I sincerely recommend this shipper.

Long and tedious continually having to contact to track. I am unable to answer all of the above questions as I am STILL waiting for my delivery to arrive to the final destination. My shipment has been in Australia for nearly 2 months now. It took less time to get from HK to Australia. Relosmart HK initial contact was very good. The person who oversaw the move in Hong Kong said they would do things and it never happened. For example, I was told boxes could be delivered so I could pack things. I waited for a whole day on the day agreed and they never showed. Not even a courtesy call. The packers in HK were efficient and friendly. I can not comment if items were damaged as the delivery hasn’t arrived. I needed and still am sending a number of emails to the partner company in Australia to learn about the shipment and where it is.

Hongkong to Germany Shipped my stuff back to Cologne. No damage, all arrived as packed.

Packing fantastic, unpacking useless. Very professional in Hong Kong. From quote to packup service. Everything we needed. Friendly staff. Our goods went into storage when they arrived in the UK because of the lockdown. Again, service was very good and communication helpful. When it came to delivering our goods, they only had 2 people to do a job that took 6 people in Hong Kong. The staff were friendly and helpful but not trained to assemble furniture that had been taken apart in Hong Kong. The service standard was poles apart. The company told us that putting our furniture back to gether was not part of the service despite assurances that this was part of the service when we left Hong Kong.

Smooth The move was smooth and on time. No trouble at all. A lot easier than expected.

Very effective quotation and pick-up for a fair price Everything has gone very smooth so far: from the first phone call with Joe to the quotation and then the very professional packing of the goods from the english speaking packing manager. Invoicing is smooth too and the price was very competitive compared to over companies. The goods havent arrived yet so i can't make a full review, the only improvement i would suggest is to communicate better on the ETA at destination as this is not clear yet for me. But in any case, i really recommend ReloSMART!

A relatively smooth experience. We moved 300 cub m of personal household items from HK to NZ. Relosmart were mostly easy to communicate with - the only issue we had was on receiving our shipment which was not the company's problem - Covid caused issues with delivery. The aactual packing and care of our house lot was very good. We have already recommended this company to others who have asked us who we used.

Smooth move ! We moved from Midlevels in Hong Kong and a holiday home in Thailand to Durban, SA. Everything went very smooth from start to finish. Faster better cheaper We had a complicated move as we didn't have the required documentation for Portugal. They helped us a lot to reduce taxes and duties and avoided us having to go to Macau for the consulate. It would have meant quarantine for us. We expected delay at customs in Portugal due to Covid 19 but it was cleared super fast.

Philippine team need more experience n better equipment . some damage to few furniture pieces , which we repaired ourselves . Phil crew did fail to assembly bed properly … they need better tools , equipment n training . Clearing process was handled well.

The staff that came out to look at our house , the move coordinator who handled our move afterwards and the teams at destination were superb. disaster. after 12 weeks of waiting i canceled the contract. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! In January, I planned to move from HK to Shanghai. It was my 10th international move. Most of my previous moves went well, so this time I underestimated the selection of relocation company. I didn’t read customer feedbacks etc. I went by price only, and it was a big mistake. Their sales guy Joseph is relatively capable, responsive, and knows his stuff. I choose the share container service for my 400cft. Packing in HK was done professionally. I have no complaints except for one big one…minimum knowledge of customs process/duties in China. I would expect simple advise e.g. don’t ship your TV because you will pay 2x of TV value in custom duty etc. Their follow up service is non-existent. I always had to ask for an update; otherwise, I would not get any update. Only once in 12 weeks they actually updated me without me asking them first. Till mid of April, they were not able to ship my stuff, not able to fill ‘ONE’ container to combine with my 400cft!. I got all types of excuses e.g. ‘need to check with export team’, ‘need to check with China office’ , ‘virus stopped everything’. I understand the situation due to COVID 19. I was very patient, I was waiting for 12 weeks. But they were not able to tell me when my stuff will be shipped despite all ports being open for some time. So, in the middle of April, after 12 months of waiting, I decided to appoint another company, and my stuff was shipped within a couple of days. I’m so disappointed and would sadly not recommend them at all. I am actually surprised that they are still in business, reading similar complaints in online forums.

Disastrous move from Hong Kong to Adelaide Warning - Avoid this company at all costs. We had the worst possible experience. They asked us to pay our deposit months before our move to secure our preferred shipment dates out of Hong Kong. But they did not even attempt to book our shipment until 2 weeks before these dates when there was no space and our container literally “missed the boat” out of Hong Kong. It subsequently arrived in Adelaide one month after the estimated arrival date. We had to get out of our initial rental agreement in Adelaide and find alternative accommodation that was fully furnished. It was a huge inconvenience and expense to us. But it wasn’t only that our shipment arrived late that was annoying or disappointing, it was the company’s (and in particular that of the GM Lars) total lack of feedback, understanding and caring that really showed that they did not care about their clients once they had been paid. Firstly, we only found out about our container missing the boat when we followed up with the HK logistics company ourselves (I suspect Relosmart were not going to inform us), we were then lied to by Relosmart as to the reasons for this, and then we came up with the solution for minimizing the inconvenience to us. All through this very distressing time not once did anyone from Relosmart apologize, take responsibility or show any understanding of the position they had put us in. Numerous calls and emails to the GM, Lars, went unanswered (and when he did finally reply he simply said it was not their fault). I am sure there are many instances where they have helped people move without any problems but moving internationally is a huge undertaking and if you happen to be the 1 client out of 10 where there is a problem this is the last company you want to be stuck with; they will not care and do nothing to help you. Do not use them!

Serious damage to my piano The planning and relocation was good, but my piano got serious damage, because the worker put a nail into the piano when making the crate! This is a low level mistake for a relocation company.

Made moving countries easy! From first contact I was confident these guys would make it work for our situation, price was good also! Their partner company in Thailand has been equally helpful, flexible and easy to deal with. Would use them again any day! Highly recommended

Still Waiting 4mths later.... Replies from Joyce to my initial emails in Hong Kong were quite punctual. I have no complaints expect for one big one...they failed to inform me that because my boxes were being sent via a shared container I would be waiting awhile. They asked me for my preferred delivery date and when I said before Dec 10, they never said it would be an issue. If they knew there was no shipment departing soon, that would've been helpful to know! However, 4mths on and I still haven't received my shipment. The boxes arrived in Amsterdam in early January. So I said repeatedly that I desperately needed the boxes before 25th January. I was just sent a timeline. By which I should've had them by then. I also repeatedly said they needed be specific about delivery times (they missed the weeks of flexibly I'd had of not working) and call ahead so we can be there. Suddenly we receive a phone call saying they are outside the building with the boxes...we are on our way out of town already. Since then (2wks), nothing. No explanations or apologies. In the meantime, I've spent a fortune replacing the winter clothes that are in the boxes for a European winter and many other work items! Had I been informed properly, I would've kept more out. I'm so disappointed and would sadly not recommend them at all.

Overpacking and bait and switch pricing tactics spoilt thing Initially fine. After receiving a quote we agreed to, the actual packed amount was 50% more than the quote. On arrival most items had been massively overpacked which explained the pricing. Even then some items broken. Communication was appalling with the salesman (MD) effectively going AWOL as soon as the business had been secured. Not recommended.

Fast pickup but then waiting unknowingly when to be shipped. It was quick for pick-up and pre-shipping process. After they picked up, then I have to wait unknowingly when my personal effects will be delivered. I have waited 5-6 weeks but still no sign of shipping out of China. If I don’t contact them to follow up, then they won’t tell me anything.

Hassle free Relosmart is based in HK. My coordinator Joseph Garcia is excellent. The company he chose to pack my stuff (Santa Fe) is a good and reliable company whose crew were very good. I was dreading the move but it turned out I couldn't haven't chosen a better company.

A Nightmare! Avoid this company! They will try to rob you and crook. They gave us a wrong quotation and made us pay extra after everything was packed! Moreover we paid an insurance and one of our computer screen broke during the trip, the insurance didn't pay back anything ! They made us pay an insurance for nothing.

Cost effective. Honourable. Quick response . Excellent . The MD Lars Kuepper personally took charge of the survey. Most competitive pricing for the move from Hong Kong back to Singapore after consulting several commercial shippers. Small communication hiccup which was personally settled by Lars . It is a good sign when top management is on the ground. Shipping to Singapore was efficient and on excellent timing . I would definitely recommend Relosmart to anyone . My word is my Bond .

Brilliant It was stressful at first arranging things but Relosmart has made life easier and bearable. Line of communication with Relosmart's Coordinator Joseph Garcia was always open and he was very helpful and patient. I couldn't have asked for a better person to organise the move. I'm still waiting for the arrival of the container in the UK but if the service was anywhere near what I had when the wonderful crew of Santa Fe Philippines who Relosmart subcontracted to do the packing and loading, then the unloading to the UK will be smooth sailing. Thank you Relosmart and Santa Fe. I was dreading the move but it went more than ok.

Complete disaster The performance of relosmart was a huge disappointment. I moved from Hong Kong to Europe. 1) First big mistake: The packers didnt show up on the agreed moving date! (They had marked down the wrong date internally) - They confirmed a Sunday, thus the office was empty that day and no one answered the phone 2) The kind of packing might be suitable to Hong Kong moves but doubtful for Europe (wardrobes and shelfs were kept in one peace including all stuff inside, they only wrapped paper carton around). The furniture was heavy though, which might not be a problem for houses in HK with elevators but smaller houses in Europe usually do not have a lift; I had to pay an extra charge to their partner company for carrying the stuff to the third floor which was not calculated before. Also it is just much to heavy for the packers to carry. 3)Relosmart had 9 weeks time for the move, usually it takes around 6 weeks. Their partner in Europe didnt have any capacity and only brought my stuff after 12 weeks! I was sitting three weeks in an empty department without any furniture. 4) Honestly, after the packers didnt show up in Hong Kong I expected Relosmart to follow up this move carefully. This didnt happen at all - nor the staff neither the General Manager put any effort into this, no concession at all! 5) some items were broken (such as a mirror door of the wardrobe) but I believe that may happen with other moving companies as well, unfortunately it was below insurance value, so I had to replace it myself All in all, it was a huge disappointment and mistake to choose Relosmart - never again! I had to choose one star per rating, otherwise I would have given any. Only the price offer was good but thats relativized by the very poor performance!

reloSMART Packing was terrible, no management or planning and everything was packed in paper, leaving large amounts of our belongings broken on the other side. The packers then packed boxes half full and so our quote immediately grew to 4 times the estimated amount. Despite all this the team were never contactable and so when we were in Singapore trying to find answers, we couldn't get hold of anyone. In their defense, they did try hard once we accepted the additional cost and were able to get hold of them. ReloSmart made the full experience of moving countries far more stressful then necessary.

reloSMART It is a very bad experience . Up to now , the stuffs are not yet shipped and stayed in Hong Kong over a month . I don't know when I can receive the personal stuffs. The company is not very helpful . It is the first and last to use their service.

However, when the shipment arrived at the US and we interacted with its US partner, Bloom International Relocations, Inc., it was terrible - long waiting time without any update until I inquired. Till today (Sep 18) I haven't received my moving items!!!!

reloSMART ReloSmart vastly underestimated the size of container needed to move all our stuff to Europe. In the end we had to leave quite a lot behind, and we got billed extra for the ?disposal? of our perfectly good furniture. I had requested all packing into the container done at our house to see space used, but RS used a smaller van + repacked into container out of sight. We had insured our items through our home Insurance rather than through RS (saved us $, but not a good move, since 8 (eight) numbered moving boxes -disappeared- Our insurance didn't cover since the value was 'only' HK $50.000 - a clause we signed). Some of our cheap items were overly well-packed - a few, 6, drinking glasses wrapped in a ton of paper into one box - whereas expensive Danish Design PH lamps and chairs as well as framed Photos and pictures, were 'thrown' into boxes with inadequate or no wrapping at all. The result is of course scratched picture frames and markings on funiture that will never go away. Not happy

reloSMART They were great on the front end of the move. Everything I needed to get docs done, items packed and shipped, was fast and efficient. However, following the move I can't get any response on outstanding issues so, the back end was not as good as the front end. Overall, they were pretty good and efficient. One other thing. Terms in the sales contract in Hong Kong are not being recognized by the movers on the USA side. Things like carrying boxed up one floor. That is not making me happy at all. There are a lot of unexpected delivery expenses.

reloSMART Overall, fantastic. I would highly recommend ReloSMART for anyone looking for the most cost effective, reliable service to care for heavy delicate furniture or items. They were among the lower quotes, although not the lowest quote we found. The inspecting staff clearly understood and told us of the special precautions and preparation needed to make sure our antique glass fronted cabinet got across the world with no breakage. For a client with a corporate account or endless finances; there are easier, door to door shipping companies who have their own agents on both ends. ReloSMART does not, which makes it a bit more paperwork and delayed, however, those 'complete package' companies are far more expensive. For an individual or company without endless funds - this shipping arrangement got the job done superbly. Both our Hong Kong agent and the US agents from a partner company kept us informed. AAA rating!!!

reloSMART myself: Although we decided to move on our own (without our furniture), Relo smart was very professional by providing us the necessary quotes for us to make the best possible choice under our own circumstances. I definitely recommend their custumer services.

reloSMART Pre-move / administration: The estimation was wrong by 30%, so we ended up having to pay a lot more. The insurance application wasn't passed to us until the day we were scheduled to fly out, so we had to do a mad dash to find an place to print out the form. Movers: Very fun group, the men were very friendly, and took the time to explain a lot of things to us, as well as doing a swell job at packing all of stuff, despite having run out of material and needing to make an extra trip to get extras.
